The District’s BIG LIE… EXPOSED!!!

Lie: The District says they can’t pay employees because they don’t have money and they want to avoid layoffs.
Truth: They want to use the money from your paycheck to build up their reserves to a level that is not required by law.

Lie: The District claims that they want to avoid layoffs.
Truth: The District has already laid off more than one hundred employees.

Lie: There is no money available to pay employee wages.
Truth: The District is re-hiring retired “Fat Cat” administrators at $100,000+ salaries while they still get their pensions.

Lie: The District says there is a hiring freeze because they don’t have money.
Truth: They are still hiring employees. Check their website before they pull the advertisements.

Lie: The District says that they have insufficient reserves and can only fill the hole by taking back pay from their employees.
Truth: They have millions of dollars in unpaid purchase orders still on the books that could be cancelled with one click on the computer.

The Biggest Lie of All: The district wants you to believe that YOU are responsible for people losing jobs.

UTD is not recommending layoffs and, in fact, has been fighting to protect all jobs. We have been an active advocate for maintaining special areas such as Art, Music, PE and Bilingual Education.

UTD has been fighting for EVERYONE’S salaries.
