Position: Receptionist/Switchboard Operator 

The United Teachers of Dade is looking for an organized, skilled receptionist / switchboard operator to work in the Organizing Department in providing high quality communication support and excellent customer service, and to help maintain optimal workflow and communications for UTD.  

Responsibilities include:

  • Opens and closes the UTD switchboard on time.
     

  • Follows UTD protocols for connecting members with appropriate staff.
     

  • Connects callers or visitors with the appropriate UTD staff member as quickly as possible.
     

  • Greets UTD callers or visitors politely and as quickly as possible.
     

  • Reviews and accurately routes messages from the general UTD voice mail bank to the appropriate staff member.
     

  • Provides additional support to UTD staff when possible.
     

  • Any additional project or responsibility assigned by the director.

This position may be required, on occasion, to travel in county, at the Employer’s expense. 

Requirements:

·          Excellent communication skills

·          Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion

·          Ability to function in fast-paced environment, and relate to diverse needs

·          Proficiency in all aspects of Microsoft Office, internet and e-mail use

·          High School diploma required; Associates or Bachelors degree preferred

Salary:   Minimum $22,500
