School Board Approves Superintendent’s Recess Implementation Proposal

With UTD members’ positive feedback and suggestions on the concept of recess, UTD President Karen Aronowitz made several recommendations for modification to the Superintendent’s Recess Implementation Proposal.  The School Board approved the Superintendent’s Recess Implementation Proposal at their September 7, 2005 School Board meeting, including UTD recommendations.

Aronowitz stated, “I am very pleased that this item was brought back with our recommendations.  UTD recommendations addressed heat and inclement weather, as well as having other certified adults supervise recess when the classroom teacher cannot.  We need balance in our recess plan.” Aronowitz thanked the Superintendent and the School Board for working with UTD on the implementation of recess.

Request that School Board approve implementation of recess.
