| UTD "Goes the Extra Mile" for Bargaining Unit Members At their December 14 School Board Meeting, the School Board approved the IRS Mileage Rate for Employee Mileage Reimbursement in 2006. UTD bargained to increase mileage reimbursement (for school system employees) to the IRS rate per mile. The School Board inaccurately stated that the state prohibited them from doing this. UTD provided proof that there are no state statutes prohibiting the School Board from increasing the mileage reimbursement rate. At the October 20th meeting, the School Board heard a proposal to increase the mileage rate. UTD advocated for the new rate to be applied retroactively. The School Board approved that the new rate will be retroactive from September 1, 2005.
