Professional Development Roll-over hours approved in the Zone

In an effort to facilitate the careful selection of professional development activities aligned with school professional development plans, the Office of Professional Development, in consultation with the United Teachers of Dade, has formulated the following policy regarding the roll-over of professional development hours.  Please distribute the information to all teachers:

Approved Master Plan Points (MPP) or hours earned in excess of the 28-hour professional development requirement for the 2004-2005 school year will be applicable to the 56-hour professional development requirement for the 2005-2006 school year.  Accordingly, as provided by contract, all teachers are required to earn a total of 84 MPP/hours by the completion of the 2005-2006 school year.  This total includes 28 required professional development hours for the 2004-2005 school year and 56 required professional development hours for the 2005-2006 school year.
