UTD member Patti Perez, a Nationally Board Certified teacher at Linda Lenton K-8 Center and local union Educational Research and Dissemination (ER&D) trainer, helped support the Broward Teachers Union (BTU) during their June 2008 ER&D training for the ER&D course- Foundations of Effective Teaching I.  Patti has been a local ER&D Foundations I trainer for two years.  She is currently attending training in Orlando for a new ER&D course, Thinking Mathematics for Middle School, to be offered by UTD during school year 2008-2009.
