UTD Black Caucus Vision/Goals  

UTD Black Caucus

Moving beyond the shadows of the past…into a brighter future. 

Mission Statement: 

The mission of this organization is to provide black professionals within the field of education a forum, in which their concerns are heard and resolve proactively by a sounding board. The Black Caucus will help maintain equality and protection for all black professionals.  

Objectives/Goals  

To recruit and retain black professionals within Miami-Dade County Public Schools. 

To maintain a high membership and visibility of black professionals within UTD committees and the Black Caucus.  

To develop and support community activities designed to motivate high achievement and success among black professionals. 

To promote greater civic participation and knowledge about major policy issues that affect black professionals. 

We Believe 

in a dedicated, effective, and fair school system. 

 …that black professionals have the right to be heard. 

 …that black professionals should maintain high visibility within UTD committees, caucuses, and communities. 

Activities 

·        Monthly round table meetings

·        Black Caucus monthly meetings

·        Black History Dinner 

Meetings 

All meetings will be held on the second Monday of each month for 2007-2008 School Year from 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
